Vehicle access control is where security meets traffic engineering. A poorly specified gate barrier becomes a daily bottleneck; a properly engineered one secures the perimeter while moving authorised vehicles through smoothly. The difference is matching the operator class to your actual traffic.

Araneae Networks installs and maintains automated swing gates, sliding gates and boom barriers from premium European brands — BFT, FAAC and CAME. We size operators correctly for span, weight and daily cycle count, and we specify hardware with IP ratings appropriate for UAE conditions: dust, sand, 50°C summer heat and salt-air corrosion in coastal locations.

Every installation includes the safety equipment that UAE regulations require and good practice demands: photocells across the gate opening, safety edges on swing gates, induction loop detectors in the road surface, traffic lights for boom-up/down indication, and audible/visual warnings during operation. We document the safety configuration as part of handover.

Access can be triggered by multiple methods, often combined: RFID long-range readers for staff and tenants, licence-plate recognition (ANPR) for registered visitors and contractors, intercom call-to-open for unregistered visitors, mobile-app remote opening, push-button at guard station, and emergency over-ride keys. For high-throughput entries we deploy lane-control logic that handles inbound and outbound traffic on a single barrier without conflicts.

Power resilience matters in Dubai — even brief DEWA interruptions can lock people out of their compounds. We specify backup battery sets that maintain operation for typically 50-200 cycles after grid loss, and solar-assisted operation for remote sites. Critical installations get UPS protection.

Integration with the wider security system is standard. Gate events log into the access control system, ANPR captures feed the CCTV analytics, and intercom video registers automatically.
